Coastal Mountain Adventurer - Half Day
- Duration: 4 Hours (approx.)
- Location: Bicheno, Tasmania
- Product code: CMHD
Leaving the park we head down the road to a popular wildlife sanctuary, Natureworld. Here you will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the Tasmanian devils, Tasmanian quolls, Wedgetail eagles and an abundance of wallabies, birds, wombats and other friendly native animals – a sure addition to any tour when visiting the east coast of Tasmania.
Next up, we’ll wind our way along the coast towards Seymour Beach where we’ll stop off for a quick stroll on the stunning white sand. Seymour provides the ideal vantage point to map out the road ahead, with clear views of the marsh lands, forest and hills leading towards Mount Grey and the infamous Mount Elephant.
Onward and upwards we go, climbing through the Apsley National Park region towards the old mining road, en route to the old port at Seymour. A sense of history lingers around every corner, provoking a profound feeling of nostalgia amongst constant reminders of the 1980’s – a time when Apsley NP was under serious threat from small scale logging and coal mining.
Next up, we move through St Mary’s, a small township found at the junction of the Tasman and Esk Highways on the East Coast of Tasmania. The sleepy town is known in equal part for its stunning scenery and rich and diverse history. As we explore the iconic locations, we’ll take a relaxing walk to South Sisters, a gorgeous mountain standing at a towering 833m high. With its panoramic view of the dairy farms as well as the township of St Mary’s, you’re in for a treat!
Back in the comfort of the vehicle, your guide will navigate you through the winding roads and down towards the coast. In preparation of removing debris and dirt, you’ll be able to wash your feet on the crystal sands of Four Mile Creek, before enjoying a beer or a drop of Tasmanian wine, whilst drinking in the stunning ocean views.
From here, you can sit back and relax as we cruise towards your accommodation, stopping intermittently for a few photo opportunities and to take in the beauty of the east coast.
